Did you know...?
The brassica family of cruciferous vegetables is high in vitamin A, C & K as well as many minerals and nutrients including sulfur, all of which are beneficial in the prevention of acne. The genus Brassica contains high amounts of glucosinolates, which are metabolized to isothiocyanates and later, sulforaphane. These nitrogen and sulfur containing products are proven to be the cause of health promoting effects of these plants. Due to the anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects, a study found that applying a topical extract of broccoli and cauliflower was highly significant as a mild to moderate anti-acne treatment.
